Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 3, 2026
1. Overview
Welcome to our Termite Habit Tracker application ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have full control over your data. This Privacy Policy outlines how your information is handled when you use our mobile application, including our core features, subscription management, and third-party integrations.
2. How the App Works
Our app is designed as an offline-first tool to help you build and maintain positive routines. It allows you to create habits, track your daily check-ins, view performance statistics, configure home screen widgets, and securely backup or restore your progress via JSON files using Android's built-in sharing mechanisms.
3. Data Storage
We believe your data belongs to you. To ensure maximum privacy:
- Local Storage: All your core habit data, check-ins, statistics, and application preferences are stored locally on your device using internal SQLite databases and local preference files.
- No Cloud Sync: We do not automatically sync, upload, or transmit your habit data to our servers.
- Manual Backups: If you choose to use the backup feature, the app generates a local file on your device. You are responsible for where you store or share this file (e.g., Google Drive, Email) using the standard Android Share Sheet.
4. Information Collection
While the core functionality operates offline, certain non-personal and technical information is collected to support essential app operations, monetization, and analytics:
- Device Information: We may collect generic device details such as OS version, device model, and language preferences to optimize performance.
- Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics regarding feature interactions may be collected to help us improve the user experience.
- Purchase History: If you opt for premium features, we collect transactional data via our subscription manager.
5. What We Do Not Collect
To respect your privacy, we explicitly do not collect or transmit:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
- The specific names, notes, or details of the habits you are tracking.
- Precise or approximate geographical location data.
- Health or biometric data.
6. Permissions
To function correctly, the app requests the following Android system permissions:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required to send you timely reminders for your scheduled habits.
- Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used to trigger precise, time-sensitive habit reminders and notifications.
- Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Allows the app to silently reschedule your habit reminders and refresh home screen widgets after your device restarts.
7. Third-Party Services
We partner with selected third-party services to provide necessary infrastructure, analytics, and advertising. These providers have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they use such information:
- Google Play Services: Used for core Android integrations and billing framework functionality.
- Crashlytics/Analytics: Used to monitor app stability and anonymously track crashes to help us fix bugs promptly.
8. RevenueCat Paywall & Subscriptions
To manage our in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions, we use a third-party service called RevenueCat.
- Subscription Management: RevenueCat acts as the backend for our paywall, validating your subscription status across your devices.
- Data Handled by RevenueCat: RevenueCat generates an anonymous App User ID to associate with your purchase history. They do not have access to your personal identity, habit data, or credit card information. All payment processing is securely handled entirely by the Google Play Store.
- Managing Subscriptions: You can manage, upgrade, or cancel your auto-renewable subscriptions at any time directly through your Google Play Store account settings.
9. Advertising
To support the development of our free tier, the app may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob).
- Ad Identifiers: These ad networks may use your device's unique Advertising ID and cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your consent and device settings.
- Opting Out: You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings (e.g., navigating to Settings > Privacy > Ads on your Android device and resetting your Advertising ID or opting out of ad personalization).
10. Security
We prioritize the security of your data. Since your habit information remains locally on your device, it is protected by Android's application sandbox and full-disk encryption (on supported devices). However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please ensure your device is protected with a secure lock screen (PIN, password, or biometric lock).
11. Legal Compliance
Depending on your region, you may have specific rights regarding your data:
- GDPR (Europe) & UK GDPR: We operate on a data-minimization principle. Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, data deletion requests regarding your habits can be fulfilled simply by uninstalling the app. For ad personalization, consent is managed via standardized consent management platforms (CMPs) within the app.
- CCPA (California): We do not "sell" your personal information. Ad networks may collect anonymous identifiers as detailed in the Advertising section.
- Children's Privacy (COPPA): Our application is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
